1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions apply to anyone accessing the website contour-cargobox.ca, contacting Contour Cargo Box, or purchasing a Contour Cargo Box product, whether the purchase is made through the website or by any other means (including, but not limited to, direct sales, trade shows, demonstrations, or distributors).

By accessing the site, using its services, or purchasing a Contour Cargo Box product, you acknowledge that you have read these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them, as well as to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website or purchase the products.

2. Product Description

Contour Cargo Box designs and sells products intended for equipment transport, including cargo boxes and accessories made from durable materials such as galvanized steel, plastics, and, depending on the model, painted MDO panels.

Descriptions, photos, and technical specifications are provided for reference only. Slight variations may exist due to manufacturing processes or continuous product improvements.

3. Intended Use and User Responsibility

The products sold are designed for normal use and according to the provided recommendations.

The user is responsible for:

  • Verifying product compatibility with their vehicle

  • Adhering to the indicated load limits

  • Properly installing the product or hiring a professional

  • Performing regular safety inspections

Contour Cargo Box cannot be held liable for improper installation, misuse, or product modifications.

4. Required Maintenance – Frame and Cargo Box

Contour Cargo Box products are designed for outdoor use and are made from a galvanized steel frame and, for some models, a painted MDO panel box. Minimal but regular maintenance is required to ensure safety, durability, and performance.

Galvanized Steel Frame

The user agrees to:

  • Periodically inspect the frame, including attachment points, bolts, welds, and mechanical components

  • Retighten fasteners as needed, especially after initial uses and at regular intervals

  • Clean the frame with water and mild soap to remove dirt, road salt, and other contaminants

  • Check the galvanized coating and promptly address any damaged areas to limit corrosion

  • Avoid prolonged accumulation of moisture or corrosive residues

Painted MDO Panel Box

The user agrees to:

  • Regularly inspect painted surfaces for scratches, cracks, or damaged areas

  • Promptly touch up any exposed surfaces with compatible exterior paint to prevent moisture infiltration

  • Clean the box using a soft cloth, water, and non-abrasive soap

  • Avoid harsh cleaners, solvents, or high-pressure sprays directed at panels, seams, or fasteners

  • Ensure seals, gaskets, and waterproofing elements remain in good condition

Molded Box

The molded box is designed for normal outdoor use under conditions in line with manufacturer specifications.

The user agrees to:

  • Periodically inspect the box for cracks, deformation, sagging, impacts, or structural anomalies

  • Check the integrity of attachment points, support surfaces, and mounting areas to prevent excessive stress, twisting, or localized pressure

  • Strictly adhere to the recommended maximum payload and ensure even distribution of contents

  • Avoid overloading, impacts, dropping heavy objects, or abnormal mechanical stress

  • Do not use the box as a support surface, step, or leverage point

  • Avoid over-tightening fasteners that could restrict natural material movement due to temperature changes

  • Clean the box with water and mild, non-abrasive soap

  • Avoid solvents, harsh chemical cleaners, petroleum products, or abrasive tools

  • Regularly remove accumulated snow, ice, road salt, mud, or contaminants

  • Ensure seals, gaskets, and mechanisms remain clean and functional

  • Ensure the exhaust system is never directed toward the box

The user acknowledges that prolonged exposure to high temperatures, including direct sunlight, may cause temporary softening of the material and minor reversible dimensional changes or deformation. These are normal product behaviors and are not considered manufacturing defects as long as structural integrity and functionality are maintained.

Although materials are suitable for outdoor use, prolonged exposure to extreme conditions, standing moisture, repeated impacts, or inadequate maintenance may cause premature wear or product degradation.

Contour Cargo Box disclaims any responsibility for damage, deformation, water infiltration, corrosion, or delamination resulting from poor maintenance, misuse, or product modification.

5. Orders and Payments

All orders are subject to acceptance and availability.

Prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD), before or after taxes as indicated. Applicable fees are added at checkout.

Contour Cargo Box reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order in case of pricing errors, insufficient stock, or suspected fraud.

6. Warranty

Contour Cargo Box products are covered by a limited warranty against manufacturing defects for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Corrosion resulting from inadequate maintenance or extreme conditions

  • Damage caused by accidents, overloading, improper installation, or product modifications

  • Demo units

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Contour Cargo Box shall not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, its products or website.

8. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and applicable Canadian laws.

Any disputes must be brought before a competent court in the appropriate judicial district in Quebec.

9. Changes

Contour Cargo Box reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on the website.
